Screen Printing For Plastic 11/04/2012

Screen-printing for plastic is one of the second processing (also called further processing) of plastic products. The so-called second processing means that after the plastic production has been mold by injection, carry on another surface decoration processing, such as: plating on plastics, plastic spraying, plastic hot stamping, plastic screen printing, etc. The reason why plastic productions need a second processing mainly is decided by the performance of plastic itself. If the dyeing properties are comparatively unitary, and the light fastness of the color is poor . In order to make up these disadvantages and improve the surface decoration of the plastic production, a further processing is necessary.

There are varies of plastic products, as for screen-printing, sheet and flat body uses planar screen-printing; globoid body that can be unfolded into a plane uses curved-surface screen-printing; while special shaped products uses indirect screen-printing. As the resin, additive and method of molding are different, the difference of surface performance is large, especially the smoothness, polarity and static electricity of surface these problems become the root of fault in Corrugated Plastic Board / Corflute .

1. Screen-printing for PVC plastic. PVC was used in industrial production in 1931. PVC plastic has bright color, is not easy to break, resist acid and alkali, and the price is cheap. However, as some of the auxiliary materials added in during PVC plastic producing are always toxic, so that PVC products are not suitable for serving food. The PVC film has various colors and varieties. The colorful plastic sheeting and artificial leather in market are mostly PVC products.

2. Screen-printing for ABS plastic. ABS resin plastic is an engineering plastic, which is extensively used in many areas in recent years, such as television and computer products, and national economy. ABS plastic is a three-copolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. Because ABS plastic is a three-copolymer, it has the common characteristics of these three elements. Acrylonitrile can make the copolymer resists chemical corrosion and gain a certain surface harness; butadiene provide toughness like rubber for copolymer; styrene give the copolymer a characteristic so that it can be easily processed and formed. ABS plastic has varieties of colors, the product has glossy surface with low water-absorbing rate, inside a certain temperature range, it has good impact strength and surface hardness, besides, it has comparatively good size stability. Most ABS resins still have equivalent impact strength under -40 temperature, which shows the toughness, the operating temperature range of its product is -40~60. ABS plastic has high molecular weight, good physical performance, easy to be formed and has good printability.
